Why am I excited for a Kamala Harris presidency? Let me tell you in ninety seconds… 

1.  She’ll lower food prices by stopping unfair mergers that reduce competition and give corporations the power to charge you more.

2.  Her plan to take on the housing crisis would stop Wall Street from gobbling up houses, crack down on rent-gouging, fund new home construction, and help first-time home buyers with their down payments. 

3.  She’ll tackle corporate greed by proposing the first federal ban on price-gouging during emergencies.

4. She’ll protect reproductive freedoms by codifying Roe v. Wade.

5. She’ll unrig our tax system by increasing taxes on corporations and the rich, without raising taxes on middle and low-income Americans

6. She’ll fight child poverty by restoring and expanding the Child Tax Credit, including a new $6,000 credit for the first year of a newborn's life, along with establishing free, universal preschool.

7. Harris supports raising the federal minimum wage. And wants to get rid of the subminimum wage for tipped workers and workers with disabilities, which currently allows millions to be paid hourly wages as low as $2.13 an hour.

8. She’ll lower health care costs by prioritizing a thirty-five-dollar insulin cap and a two-thousand-dollar out-of-pocket prescription drug cap for everyone.

9.  She’ll support eldercare by calling for Medicare to finally cover home health coverage for seniors. This would provide much-needed aid to millions of people struggling to take care of aging family members.

10.  Harris supports paid family and medical leave, something that every other developed nation has had for years. 

11.  She supports erasing medical debt for millions of Americans.

12: She’ll defend democracy by expanding voting rights and fighting voter suppression by calling for the passage of the John Lewis Voting Rights Act and the Freedom to Vote Act.

13: She supports key Supreme Court reforms, including a binding code of ethics as well as term limits for justices.

14: She’ll make history as America’s first woman president and first woman president of color.

And lastly…

15: She’s focused on making your life better.
